Setting Up Green Field Airports : The way ahead


The aviation industry is growing leaps and bounds in India necessitating the need for developing new airports and associated infrastructure.  With global warming reaching unprecedented proportions, any development which could create a negative ecological impact is vehemently opposed by environmentalists.  The state government’s too are making a conscious effort to develop new facilities either in places where there is no negative ecological impact or such impact if unavoidable are kept to a bare minimum.  With the government already engaged in developmental activities that encourage regional connectivity through the UDAN scheme, the need to streamline the construction of green field and brown field airports cannot be undermined.  A set of comprehensive guidelines issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation is provided herewith.  Please click the link below to access the guidelines :
